Delhi teanagers Garvit Batra and Simran Kaur Sethi bagged a double each in the AITA Under-14 Super Series Tournament, which concluded at Union Club in Berhampur today. Batra, who claimed the boys doubles title with SD Prajwal Dev earlier yesterday, beat second seed Sahil Deshmukh (Maharashtra) in singles final to clinch the double.
Girls top seed Sethi bagged the singles crown with a hard-earned win over Iska Akshara (AP) and then joined Dhruti Venugopal to secure the doubles title. Former Davis Cupper Sandip Kirtane, Gopalpur MLA Dr Pradip Panigrahi and host Ganjam District Tennis Association vice-president K Milan Kumar Patra gave away the trophies at the closing ceremony. Host Orissa’s campaign end early with the defeat of Adwithiya Patnaik and Shakti Ray in boys doubles semifinals and Koyal Mishra in girls singles second round.
